As COVID-19 cases increased in Palestine, the General Union of Palestinian Teachers, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, led a project on e-learning. This has assumed greater significance as schools will not reopen in August as had been previously planned.

Almost overnight, face-to-face teaching in classrooms was replaced with various forms of remote teaching: from worksheets or lectures delivered by WhatsApp or downloadable from websites (often with little interaction with an educator) to classes taught in real-time online, using a variety of technology platforms.

IIE's Varsity College student volunteer body spreads love virtuallyThe IIE's Varsity College student volunteer body VC Cares and its Bachelor of Education students have not been able to engage in their usual community outreach activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of these activities included regular visits to homes and shelters where the volunteers read to children and the elderly.
